Marine Shipbuilding
Marine Shipbuilding
Low emission, silent and powerful
In marine engineering, low-emission and low-noise drive units are required. This can be met by modern hybrid drive technologies. The reduction of exhaust gas values with regard to the legal requirements are in the foreground here.
Gerade im Marine und Schiffsbau werden beim Einsatz der Motoren und Antriebe immer das Ziel verfolgt, diese im optimalen Arbeitsbereich zu betreiben und das bei gleichzeitiger Effizienzoptimierung.
Weight reduction and adaptation to mechanical conditions are the particular challenges for engine design.
In the field of yachts, research vessels, naval vessels or superyachts, electric drives for hybrid systems are an increasing option for shipbuilding. Hybrid systems also offer space and weight optimization to reduce emissions and noise.
Tailored to the respective customer requirements, the most diverse conditions must be fulfilled. Examples are: a reduction in maintenance costs, a reduction in consumption by optimising efficiency, a reduction in noise and vibration, and an improvement in the ship's manoeuvrability. The combination of the points mentioned above requires a high degree of flexibility in the design and construction possibilities.
Electric motors in boat drives are subject to various regulations and rules of the classification society such as Lloyd Register, Germanischer Lloyd, DNV or Bureau Veritas. CEDS DURADRIVE develops and designs the different drives according to the approval regulations.
